Senior Management Accountant Opportunity

Marks Sattin is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organisation in the Hinckley area to find a Senior Management Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an on-site role, Monday to Friday, with Fridays having a half day finish.

The Senior Management Accountant will have a proven track record in the manufacturing industry and must be able to demonstrate good knowledge of costing and be familiar with manufacturing and factory management software - ideally within the automotive, aerospace or precision engineering sectors.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Management Accountant will provide commercial insight and analysis for the Senior Leadership Team to aid key decision making. You will also support the Finance Director in the budgeting & forecasting process and will also business partner with the engineering and operations teams on-site to drive financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise two Accounts Assistants
  • Support the Finance Director and SLT to identify suitable KPIs to monitor business performance that have a direct impact on financial results
  • Develop financial models to track key metrics and trend analysis
  • Highlight risks and opportunities through the provision of sound financial analysis and commercial insight
  • Support the Finance Director as required with ad-hoc projects
  • Prepare accurate cash forecasting based upon expected daily sales invoicing and supplier payments
  • Monitor and report to the SLT on debtor and creditor terms and ensure risks are highlighted and actioned
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all General Ledger Balance Sheet accounts
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Monthly Management Accounts reconciled to the General Ledger
Requirements
  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience in a similar position
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Within a commutable distance to the offices as the position requires 5 days per week on-site
  • Strong costing background
  • Factory Management Software experience
  • Good understanding of financial controls and processes
  • Experience of financial forecasting and planning
  • Proficient Excel user and comfortable extracting data from ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Natural drive to improve processes where necessary
  • Great communicator with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders within a fast-paced environment
