Job Description

Job Title: Supply Chain Planner

Job Type: Contract

Location: Derby

Contract Length: 12 months

Contract Type: PAYE via Umbrella solution

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a credible supply plan to meet customer demands, taking into account inventory, logistics, and storage considerations.
  • Ensure pre-production activities are undertaken to maintain robust and credible data, creating suitable supply plans and rectifying inaccuracies.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage order books and project plans, making balanced decisions to support business priorities and satisfy customer demands.
  • Have a working knowledge of load and capacity factors that may impact the supply chain's ability to deliver against plan and offer mitigations.
  • Optimize inventory while minimizing customer delivery risk and costs.
  • Provide robust answers to Sales and Operation Planning questions through the Demands Management process.
  • Participate in business and operational reviews to understand capability to deliver to demand requirements, define and manage actions to mitigate risks and issues.
  • Operate in accordance with relevant policies and procedures as defined and comply with RRMS.
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification (e.g., APICS).
  • Experience in supply chain planning control is essential.
  • Understanding and experience of managing load capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deliveries and make balanced business decisions under challenging circumstances.
  • Understanding of different roles, functions, and processes (e.g., Manufacturing, Purchase, NPI, Quality).
  • Able to take responsibility for their own development.
  • Working knowledge of, and experience with, MRP and/or ERP systems.
Security Clearance:

This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate must be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
