Maintenance Coordinator Job Description

A Maintenance Coordinator is a key professional responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment. This role involves coordinating schedules, assigning tasks to maintenance staff, ensuring timely completion of maintenance projects, and managing resources efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain schedules for routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Task Assignment: Assign maintenance tasks to appropriate personnel based on skills and workload to ensure efficient task completion.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that necessary tools, equipment, and materials are available for maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Communication: Coordinate with various departments, supervisors, and maintenance staff to communicate priorities, updates, and changes in maintenance schedules.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and resource usage to inform future maintenance decisions.
  • Troubleshooting: Address and resolve issues that may arise during maintenance activities, and work with relevant teams to find solutions.
  • Compliance: Ensure that maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Budgeting: Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when necessary for specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with maintenance staff, other departments, and external vendors.
