We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Underwriting Analyst to join our team at Hastings Direct. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in supporting the evolution of our technical underwriting strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development of our technical underwriting strategy by identifying opportunities to optimize our underwriting operations and footprint protections.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to produce insights on the mix of risks we cover and the claims we receive.
- Develop and implement recommendations based on data insights, and own the change delivery.
- Design and maintain performance dashboards to track operational underwriting activity, analyzing trends to drive continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with the wider technical underwriting team to support their needs for data and analytical insights.
- Previous experience in a data-driven analytical role.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with numerical and statistical information.
- Knowledge or experience using an analytical programming environment, such as Python, SQL, or R.
- A creative mindset, with the ability to display initiative and innovation in everything you do.
- Proactive and accountable for your work, with a focus on making real change.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to share your ideas across teams and with senior stakeholders.
