Decarbonisation Lead (Hybrid Working)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Decarbonisation Lead to join our team in a hybrid working arrangement. As a key member of our policy team, you will play a critical role in managing and delivering Make UK's policy work on decarbonising the manufacturing sector.

The estimated salary for this role is £55,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits including flexible working hours, health cover, and matched pension contributions up to 8%.

  • Develop comprehensive policy responses to consultations and inquiries, shaping outcomes for our members while establishing Make UK as a thought leader.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key policy and political stakeholders to enhance Make UK's reputation and influence within Whitehall and Westminster.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Policy to identify, plan, and manage research projects that inform Make UK's policy and public affairs objectives.
  • Represent our members by speaking at external policy committees and groups, ensuring their needs are effectively communicated to policymakers and stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a net zero, decarbonisation, or energy-related policy role.
  • In-depth understanding of the UK policy-making process, with a track record of successfully influencing policy outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, manage, and deliver policy projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including civil servants and other membership organisations.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
