We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant/SEN Support Key Worker to join our vibrant primary school in Wolverhampton. This full-time role requires someone with a strong background in working with SEND pupils, particularly children with autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to children with special educational needs.
  • Utilize your knowledge of autism and other SEND needs to offer specialized assistance.
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development, ensuring their wellbeing in a school environment.
  • Use Makaton (if applicable) to assist in communication and learning where required.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement and adapt lesson plans to suit individual needs.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (essential).
  • Previous experience working with SEND pupils, especially children with autism.
  • Completion of a SEND awareness course (essential).
  • Knowledge of Makaton is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy.
  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive learning environment for all children.
