About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Pre-Construction Estimating team at AmcoGiffen. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the pre-construction and estimating function, working closely with the tender team to ensure that the best possible tender is produced.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the pre-construction and estimating function with tasks such as checking tender information for completeness, producing quantity take-offs, and preparing subcontract and material enquiry documentation.
  • Analysis of subcontract, supplier, and merchant quotations, including normalization and benchmark data from historic projects.
  • Discuss and agree resourcing and works outputs with the planner, bid manager, and delivery team.
  • Attend internal bid team meetings and work closely with the tender team to ensure a successful tender.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the construction industry, either as an Estimator or in an operational role looking to transition into pre-construction and work winning.
  • First principles estimating experience, civil engineering project experience, and experience in a civil engineering and/or rail contractor organization.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and estimating software.
  • Rail experience is beneficial, but civils experience in other sectors such as highways will be considered.
