Estimator - Civil Engineering

Job Summary:

Gibson Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our client, a national civil engineering contractor, on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates from first principles using estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of estimates from first principles using estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to identify project requirements and understand the scope of work.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
  • Work closely with estimators, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment between estimated costs and project scope.

Requirements:

  • HND in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, fostering collaboration and building positive relationships with colleagues and project stakeholders.
  • Driving license is essential.
