Job Title: Motor Transport Driver

Sodexo Group is seeking a skilled Motor Transport Driver to join our team at HM Naval Base, Portsmouth. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating various vehicles, including Passenger Carrying Vehicles (coach/minibus), Light Goods Vehicles (van/pick-up) and cars to meet customer requirements.

Duties:
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all task/reporting documentation in accordance with legal requirements and MoD/Sodexo operating procedures.
  • Work Schedule: Work a maximum 5-in-7-day week, 20hrs or casual contract as required.
  • Overtime and Flexibility: Work overtime as agreed to meet business requirements for out of hours commitments, which may include occasional overnight tasks.
  • Transport Office Administration: Carry out routine transport office administration, as directed by Line Management and any other associated MT duties.
  • Task Assignment: Carry out any other reasonable tasks as determined by Line Management to meet the needs of the business, including support/cover for other staff when required.
  • Health and Safety: Actively promote a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes, and the law.
Requirements:
  • Driving Licence: Full clean Driving Licence
  • PCV Cat D driving licence: PCV Cat D driving licence (Inc. Hire and Reward)
  • Tachograph Card: Driver Digi Tachograph Card
  • Regulations Knowledge: Knowledge of Drivers Hours and Tachograph Regulations
  • Road Transport Legislation: Understanding of and compliant with all aspects of Road Transport legislation
  • Driving Experience: Demonstrable driving experience and basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Basic Skills: Possess good written and numerical skills
  • Geographical Knowledge: Good geographical knowledge and awareness
  • Initiative and Motivation: Self-motivated and be able to use own initiative

The estimated salary for this position is £30,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
