Portsmouth City Council is looking for a skilled Transport Planner to support its residents' parking programme. As a Technical Transport Planner, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on transport planning issues, contributing to the development of transport policy and strategy, delivering solutions to complex parking problems, and engaging with councillors, community groups, and residents.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree-level education in geography or transport planning, or equivalent professional experience. A strong understanding of the social and environmental impacts of transport is essential.

You will possess excellent writing skills, including the ability to create clear, concise reports, articles, and briefing papers, as well as financial and budget management skills. Additionally, you will have well-developed project delivery skills, including coordination, liaison, and the ability to plan and monitor project plans to achieve major projects on time and within budget.

We aim to provide a fair compensation package, consistent with industry standards. Based on national averages, we estimate the salary range for this role to be around £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.
