The University of Edinburgh invites applications for a Teaching Fellow position in the School of Design, focusing on Performance Costume. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate students in costume pattern cutting and making.

This role involves overseeing and teaching existing course content, contributing to future course content, and teaching delivery towards creative and contemporary performance costume practices. This includes teaching specialisms such as costume design for stage and screen, contemporary pattern cutting, costume draping, historical pattern cutting, dress histories, historical tailoring skills and professional practice to current industry standards.

The postholder will contribute to research, theory and practice perspectives regarding key aspects of Performance Costume design. In time, you will be expected to supervise PhD students and be responsible for designing and running core courses/modules in the Subject Area of Design.

You will need a Master's degree in an appropriate discipline related to Performance Costume or extensive experience in costume making and design for performance and screen, pattern cutting or other highly appropriate fields for contribution to undergraduate design teaching programmes.
