A Mechanical Research and Development Engineer is required by our clients to lead their engineering team in developing innovative mechanical and automation equipment solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining product specifications, utilising engineering principles, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient engineering solutions for industrial applications.
  • Analyse data from product testing and evaluate the impact on design.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to design and develop tooling and processes.
  • Lead design reviews, investigate failures, and prepare work packages for others to carry-out as necessary.
  • Consult with marketing and sales teams to ensure product viability and alignment with business goals.
  • Evaluate marketing requirements, customer feedback, and field research to ensure product performance criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records of research, design, testing, and development activities.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with mature PLM/NPI processes.
  • Ability to use CNC machines, laser cutting, and brake press equipment.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC motors and electromagnetic equipment.

Estimated Salary:** Approximately £72,500 per annum, based on average UK salary ranges for this position.
