About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urologist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Urologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our urology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive range of urological services, including outpatient clinics, elective inpatient and day-case operations, and emergency care.
- Develop and maintain a specialist interest in urology, contributing to the strategic direction of the Trust.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team working, including regular MDT discussions with colleagues.
- Conduct teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
- Provide cover for Consultant colleagues during periods of leave, in accordance with Trust policy.
- Participate in clinical audit and continuing medical education.
- Conduct suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- Fully registered with the GMC.
- CCT (or equivalent) in the specialty of Urology, or be accredited (or equivalent), and be on the GMC Specialist Register.
- Intercollegiate Specialty Examination.
- Clinical training/experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT.
- Expertise in full range of Urological conditions.
- Ability to lead a multi-professional team and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
