About the Role

The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urologist to join their team. As a Consultant Urologist, you will be responsible for providing an across-the-board core adult urological service and developing a specialist interest to complement the rest of the department.

Main Duties

The postholder will be expected to provide elective services such as outpatient clinics at Great Western Hospital and peripheral community hospitals, as well as elective inpatient and day-case operations. You will also support the hospital's new care pathways and participate in the Consultant of the Week rota, providing care for all urology inpatients and offering telephone advice to the on-call surgical team out of hours. Occasional out-of-hours attendance may be required.

The post will proactively support, participate, and contribute to the delivery of safe inpatient care and support the relevant teaching and training of both undergraduates from Oxford and Bristol Universities and junior medical staff.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a CCT (or equivalent) in the specialty appropriate for this consultant post and be on the GMC Specialist Register. They will also have expertise in full-range urological conditions, the ability to lead a multi-professional team, and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
