Principal Auditor Role

We are seeking an experienced Auditor to join our team at Positive Employment. As a Principal Auditor, you will play a key role in delivering the Audit and Counter Fraud Service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering audit services to clients, including contract auditing and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the strategic direction of our clients and the issues they face.
  • Provide advice on effective risk management and internal control frameworks.
  • Conduct original research on new auditing techniques, including data analysis.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of audit methodologies and principles.
Requirements
  • Professional accounting or auditing qualification and membership.
  • Knowledge and experience of compliance with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards (PSIAS).
  • Strategic and operational level experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in conducting audits on various areas, including contract auditing.
  • Understanding of corporate governance, including risk management, internal control environments, and frameworks.
  • Knowledge and experience of Local Government, its organization, and funding.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including Accounts and Audit Regulations, Anti Money Laundering, Human Rights, and DPA.
  • Detailed knowledge of audit tools, controls, and control tools, benchmarking, and quality assurance tools.
