Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Manage and investigate safeguarding concerns and allegations, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to protect our children and vulnerable adults.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, police, and other agencies to ensure that our safeguarding practices are aligned with national and local policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, carers, and other professionals, to ensure that our safeguarding practices are effective and responsive to the needs of our children and vulnerable adults.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff on safeguarding best practices, including the use of technology to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.
  • Contribute to the development of our safeguarding strategy, ensuring that it is aligned with our organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a safeguarding role, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, including the Children's Act and the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure that our safeguarding practices are effective and responsive to the needs of our children and vulnerable adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, parents, carers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy and flexibility.
  • Knowledge of health and social care legislation and care quality standards.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
