Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Farm Operations Manager to join our team at WPO. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our solar farm near Faversham in Kent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the solar farm, including tracking scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspection audits to assess the service levels of O&M contractors and produce inspection reports.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including owners, contractors, landlords, and grid operators.
  • Manage site activities, including induction of staff and third parties, and ensure compliance with planning conditions.
  • Recommend and manage specialist services on site, such as civils or ecological works.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and third parties.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of direct experience working in UK solar farm operations or construction.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV technology.
  • Previous experience with battery storage facilities is desired but not mandatory.
  • Ability to review, understand, and challenge legal contracts.
  • Experience with solar SCADA data and reporting.
  • Excellent organisation skills, working to strict deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement.
