Senior Technical Underwriter Opportunity

Cavendish House Recruitment is working with a market-leading Specialist Insurance Company to find a highly skilled Senior Technical Underwriter to support the growth and development of their Commercial Underwriting team.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Underwriting and play a key role in underwriting larger and more complex property and liability risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver new business underwriting solutions that meet the company's risk appetite and growth objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, agents, and other business partners.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the company's financial stability and reputation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to provide expert advice and guidance to the team.
  • Contribute to the development of underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines that align with the company's risk management strategy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in commercial underwriting, with a strong understanding of property and liability risks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant professional certifications or designations, such as CIP or CPCU.
