Cavendish Maine Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Underwriter to support the growth and development of their Commercial Underwriting team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in underwriting larger and more complex property and liability risks, working closely with the Head of Underwriting and the Underwriting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new business and renewal growth plans, focusing on larger and more complex Property and Liability risks.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Managers and the Underwriting team to grow and manage broker relations.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to less experienced colleagues, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer.
  • Identify opportunities for product development and make recommendations to the Head of Underwriting.
  • Support the Head of Underwriting with governance, insurer relations, training, and other ad hoc tasks.

Requirements:

  • Extensive Commercial Property or Liability underwriting experience.
  • Previous experience working for or with MGAs would be beneficial.
  • Experience of Delegated Authority and/or Treaty binders.
  • In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.
