Senior Child Protection Specialist

We Manage Jobs (WMJobs) is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Child Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Assessment & Staying Together teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and young people.
In this challenging yet rewarding position, you will be responsible for managing complex child protection cases, working closely with families, and collaborating with other agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
With your extensive experience in social work and post-qualifying expertise, you will bring valuable knowledge and skills to this role. Your ability to analyze complex situations, think critically, and make informed decisions will be essential in this position.
We offer a competitive salary of £43,000 - £48,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits and opportunities for professional development. About the Role
This is an Advanced Social Care Professional role that requires a high level of expertise and experience in social work. You will be responsible for:
* Managing complex child protection cases, including assessments, planning, and implementation of interventions;
* Working closely with families to ensure their needs are met and their children's safety is protected;
* Collaborating with other agencies, such as police, education, and health services, to achieve positive outcomes for children and families;
You will also have the opportunity to mentor and supervise less experienced social workers, contribute to service development and improvement, and participate in projects aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* A degree in social work and registration with Social Work England;
* Post-qualifying experience in social work, preferably in child protection or a related field;
* Knowledge of legislation and guidance underpinning delivery of children's social care, such as the Children Act and Working Together;
* Full UK driving licence;
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines;
