Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Site Operations Manager to support the Site Manager in the conversion of a commercial building into 24 high-quality apartments. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive and reliable individual with strong experience in site supervision, as well as valid forklift and telehandler tickets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Site Manager in day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project stays on schedule and within budget.
  • Supervise site activities and trades, ensuring work is carried out to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other machinery as required on site.
  • Assist the Site Manager in coordinating deliveries, materials handling, and logistics to maintain smooth site operations.
  • Monitor and report on site progress, identifying and addressing any potential issues or delays.
  • Ensure the site is clean, organized, and safe for all workers.
  • Assist in quality control, ensuring all work meets the required specifications.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Site Manager and assist with documentation and paperwork as needed.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols on site, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant site supervisor role, ideally within residential or commercial conversions.
  • Valid forklift and/or telehandler tickets are essential.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and site management practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage site staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • CSCS card (preferred but not essential).
  • Valid SSSTS Card
Contract Details:
  • 12-month contract stationed in Coventry with the potential for ongoing work on future projects on different scales.
  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
