About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Project and Programme Management to join our team at Tokamak Energy. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering our ambitious strategy to bring clean energy through fusion and develop related business applications.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivery or programme management, with experience operating in a matrixed environment and influencing stakeholders at all levels. You will be a skilled communicator and facilitator, able to create transparency and ensure progress awareness at leadership level and company-wide.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering our portfolio build, selection, and prioritisation, ensuring that investments, programmes, and projects support delivery of the organisation's strategy.
  • Designing our delivery practice, instilling a continuous improvement mindset, and aligning business evolution within the portfolio.
  • Informing and challenging the leadership team to ensure we stay on track to deliver across multiple projects and programmes, as well as keeping an eye on BAU, including financial reporting, cost tracking, and forecasting on the portfolio.
  • Leading in recruiting, coaching, and developing project managers, building and managing a delivery team function, and supporting them with personal growth and career development.
  • Designing and implementing new and innovative delivery approaches and processes for the right context, while instilling rigorous and excellent portfolio governance.
  • Driving the resource management and capability planning to balance resources across the portfolio, managing weekly resource planning, and working with the People team to develop workforce planning.
  • Developing and owning the portfolio risk profile, ensuring programme risks and issues are consolidated and escalated with clear mitigations noted.
  • Leading on the development of, and thereafter acting as the holder of, and leadership advisor on, milestones, KPIs, and benefits delivery.
