Technical QA Analyst Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical QA Analyst to join our team at Build A Rocket Boy. As a key member of our Quality Assurance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of our games.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with QA leadership to develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies.
  • Assist in establishing and improving QA workflows and processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and point of contact for specific game features, providing technical guidance and support to the team.
  • Mentor and develop the Tech QA Analyst and Associate Tech QA Analyst team members, fostering their growth and professional development.
  • Serve as a QA communication liaison across studios, ensuring seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  • Create and distribute test plans for effective testing of game areas and related content, ensuring thorough and accurate testing.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards in the bug reporting database, ensuring timely and accurate issue tracking and resolution.
  • Compile documentation to verify the state of new content and features, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Escalate risks and serious issues promptly to relevant parties, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Lead by example in performance and knowledge, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, supporting various requests and initiatives to drive business success.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable professional experience in game industry Quality Assurance, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of game testing methodologies, including testing strategies, techniques, and tools.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Jira or similar bug-tracking databases, with a strong understanding of issue tracking and resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of UE (or an equivalent engine), with experience in testing and debugging game features.
  • Familiarity with source control systems (P4V, git, etc.), with experience in managing and tracking code changes.
  • Technical proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Passion for gaming and developing high-quality experiences, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional results.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional QA experience in a software or game-testing environment, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Prior experience in QA for game development, with a strong understanding of testing strategies, techniques, and tools.
  • Experience with JIRA and Testrail, with a strong understanding of issue tracking and resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to think analytically, work systematically, and multitask in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional results.
  • Strong autonomous attitude and ability to prioritize tasks, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Ability to work within a team and under time pressure, with a strong commitment to collaboration and communication.
  • Fluent in English, with a strong understanding of business terminology and concepts.
