CAMHS CBT Therapist

The Family Mental Health Team (FMHT) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic CBT Therapist Trainee to join our team as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programmes.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your learning from weekly teaching into practical clinical interventions working with clients in the service, making a direct impact in the lives of children, young people, and their families.
The post holder will conduct thorough CAMHS Assessments, CBT Assessments, and provide evidence-based CBT therapy in line with the NICE guidelines for CYP.
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference to children's mental health through evidence-based interventions based on NICE Guideline recommended treatment.
About the RoleThe post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team made up of various disciplines and professions to include: child psychotherapy, nursing, psychiatry, psychology, social work, and systemic family therapy.
The post holder will hold an appropriate training case load and complete the necessary assignments to meet the course requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough CAMHS Assessments and CBT Assessments
- Provide evidence-based CBT therapy in line with the NICE guidelines for CYP
- Participate in clinical supervision and contribute to practical training of other service staff
- Deliver CBT interventions to children, young people, or families
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
- Degree level as a minimum plus some specialist and practical knowledge equating to postgraduate diploma level
- Membership with a professional body e.g. BABCP, BACP, or HCPC
- CYP IAPT Therapy PG DIP, accredited or working towards accreditation
- Some clinical experience of assessing mental health and wellbeing needs of clients
- Some background understanding of the changing NHS and Social Care environment and the challenges they face
- Some knowledge of legislation national and local policies relevant to Service and client group
