About the Role

Due to continued growth into new sectors and expansion of their largest contracts, the company is undergoing a recruitment drive of up to 15 new engineers, assigned exclusively to Optima UK.

As part of this planned growth, they are now looking to recruit a permanent Prototype Welder on their day shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • MIG/TIG weld to a high quality and work at speed ensuring targets are met
  • Work to high/tight tolerances and have experience working with mild steel
  • Be able to read blueprints and drawings and take measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications
  • Use measuring equipment to quality check work
  • Fettling and grinding sheet metal work
  • Quality check finished products
  • Record and report any issues
  • Manual handling of different tools to complete the job to the highest standards set
Requirements

Over 12 months experience as a Welder

Knowledge of using measuring equipment to quality check work

Ability to work in a team environment

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work at heights

Ability to lift heavy objects
