About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Refuge Support Worker. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to women in need, helping them to achieve their full potential and transition into independent living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a key worker to motivate and empower women to gain independence and reach their full potential
  • Create support plans and help women achieve their goals and independence, working collaboratively as part of a team who embrace differences
  • Promote our services and work closely with relevant local agencies, such as the local authority, specialist charities, education and training providers, probation, social services, and housing provisions
  • Build strong relationships with women and provide non-judgmental support, understanding the impacts of homelessness, substance misuse, family breakdown, domestic abuse, and trauma
Requirements
  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with people
  • Non-judgmental mindset and understanding of the impacts of homelessness, substance misuse, family breakdown, domestic abuse, and trauma
  • Forward-thinking and resilient attitude, to overcome the barriers and setbacks you will face
  • Strong character who can remain calm and collected in challenging situations
  • Experience in support work or domestic abuse, with an understanding of housing options, housing law, and basic benefits
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week, plus an on-call rota. You will be required to be part of the first tier on-call rota, providing telephone and in-person support, as well as some shift cover and out-of-hours project attendance.

Additional payment of £96 for on-call duties will be made. Relief pay per hour is £13.45, and sleepover pay is £172.60.
