Public Relations and Communication Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Public Relations and Communication professional to work with our team in the North-East. As a Public Relations and Communication Coordinator, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with local communities and public authorities, as well as coordinating onsite communication.

You will have the opportunity to develop a relationship mapping (in line with the client), initial communication diagnosis, recommendations, and propose an effective advocacy plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Public Relations:
    1. In partnership with the Project Director and the Head of Communications, design the advocacy plan (in coordination with the client – to support and supplement their plan depending on the project needs).
    2. Clearly articulate key messages related to the project towards public authorities, local communities, and other project stakeholders (e.g. councils, MPs, public bodies, etc.).
    3. Identify the most effective channels to convey consistent messages towards authorities and protect the project/the consortium.
    4. Establish a clear communication plan, outlining standard types, formats, and distribution requirements for each type of anticipated communication category.
  2. External Communication:
    1. Act as the primary point of contact between partners and clients for external communication approval to ensure a seamless and compliant approval process.
    2. Prepare and arrange the monthly communication call with the client on external communication approval.
    3. Prepare key messages for external communication of the project with project teams.
    4. Disseminate external communication rules (dos & don'ts) within the project.
    5. Contribute to the key messages and the approval process of the crisis communication plan.
  3. Internal Communication:
    1. Offer internal communication support to project directorate.
    2. Identify communication needs of strategic project leaders (HSE, Compliance, Quality, etc.)
    3. Prepare a supporting internal calendar to drive timely issuance of all internal communications and events.
    4. Implement onsite communication actions and campaigns on key topics.
    5. Anticipate upcoming communication topics by working closely with project teams.
    6. Be proactive in proposing new communication topics and actions.
    7. Develop good communication practices and synergies within the project.
    8. Contribute to the production of project videos/photo shoots.
    9. Organize project events (in-person/remote).
    10. Supervise the production of the project quarterly newsletter.
    11. Ensure compliance of project content with the NZT Power Project's graphic and editorial charter.
    12. Manage the photo library dedicated to the project.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in Public Relations, internal and external communication.
  2. Mastery of editorial, digital, and event communication.
  3. Strong English writing skills for all types of texts and formats: news, posts, articles, magazine, social networks, etc.
  4. Mastery of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  5. Good understanding of video production and graphic design (basic knowledge and ability to write creative briefing documents).

Estimated Salary Range: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
