About the Role

Kellogg College, a leading institution within the University of Oxford, is seeking a skilled Music Director to establish and lead its new College Choir. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a music strategy for the College, including weekly, termly, and yearly schedules of rehearsals, services, concerts, and other engagements for the Choir.

The Music Director will undertake relevant rehearsals and preparatory work for termly concerts, special events, and touring. This will involve recruitment, outreach, and alumni events in collaboration with the Development Office, Academic Office, and other relevant stakeholders. The post holder will also be responsible for establishing and directing three concerts per year, with the potential to increase the frequency as required.

The College Choir will be an ambassador for the College, representing its cultural heritage and future legacy. The Music Director will work closely with the College's wider academic community, which includes members from across various academic disciplines within the University.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with a strong background in music direction and choral conducting. They will be able to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, staff, and external partners. A passion for music and a commitment to the College's mission and values are essential for this role.
