Job Title: Trade Compliance Officer

Barclay Meade is seeking a highly skilled Trade Compliance Officer to join our team in Buckinghamshire. As a Trade Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with UK and US export control regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process UK export licensing applications, including OGELs, OIELs, and SIELs, in a timely manner.
  • Interface with UK authorities, such as HMRC, BIS, and ECJU, on licence applications and queries.
  • Monitor changes to embargoed and sanctioned countries and parties, as well as the wider regulatory environment, and understand their impact on the business.
  • Provide training to key personnel on import and export controls, including ITAR.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to new and inexperienced team members.
  • Work with the business to ensure UK defence requirements and exhibition clearances are in place to meet business needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all export transactions on the group Export Control Database.
  • Oversee internal policies and procedures related to import/export compliance, ITAR, EAR, and Dual Use regulations.
  • Lead internal and external compliance audits, working with the Export Compliance Manager.
  • Support internal and external parties with applications and management of US export authorisations, TAAs, MLAs, and licences.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers and agencies to ensure trade compliance and facilitate business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a Trade/Export Compliance related role, with a preference for the Aerospace/Defence sector.
  • A solid understanding of UK and US export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
  • Eligibility to gain UK SC clearance.
