Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French and taking a lead role in the school's MFL provision. They will inspire children, teachers, and parents, instil a love of the richness and diversity of learning a modern foreign language, and lead the subject with vision and flair.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspire children, teachers, and parentsInstil a love of the richness and diversity of learning a modern foreign languageLead the subject with vision and flairKeep up to date with new teaching styles and innovations in educationReview and upgrade the French curriculum regularlyDevelop links with other schools to ensure continual developments and sharing of best practiceTeach across the full primary age range, ensuring differentiated lessons for all ability levelsMonitor pupil progress and liaise with SENDcO where necessaryProvide an extended curriculum for fluent pupilsAssess, record, and report pupil progressEnsure full use of audio/visual and I.T. resources to enrich the MFL curriculumInvite guest speakers to enrich the curriculumManage the MFL budget and enter pupils in competitions and festivals as appropriatePromote French through extracurricular activitiesPrepare for and attend parent consultation eveningsSalary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience

Requirements:
- Qualifications: Relevant degree, Qualified teacher status, PGCE or equivalent
- Experience: Relevant teaching experience, preferably in the prep/primary environment
- Skills: Proven organisational skills, ability to work in a team, excellent subject knowledge of French at primary level, effective communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
