Campus Safety Supervisor

Widener University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Safety Sergeant to join our team. This is a full-time position that operates on a 3rd shift schedule, averaging 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will report to the Lieutenant on duty and oversee a team of Campus Safety Corporals and Officers, providing essential support and direction.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage supervisory sector and officers assigned to that area, providing guidance, direction, and support.
- Supervise the response to calls for service and incidents that occur.
- Prepare reports accurately and objectively detailing incidents on campus.
- Review reports submitted by officers during the shift to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist the Lieutenant in providing on-the-job training to personnel assigned to the shift.
- Perform duties of a dispatcher or Campus Safety Officer as needed.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of incidents.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Experience in a progressively responsible supervisory or customer service role.
- Experience with dispatch software and communication systems.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with the public through professional interactions.
- Ability to lead and organize a public safety team.
- Experience working in higher education or a school environment.
- Law enforcement, military, campus or public safety experience.
- Familiarity with the local area and surrounding community.
- The ability to walk for extended periods of time.
- The ability to walk up and down steps both inside and outside of buildings.
- The ability to walk outdoors in your assigned area in all types of weather conditions.
- The ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time both inside and outside of buildings.
- The ability to lift objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
