Role Summary

We are seeking a talented Claims Specialist to join our team in Ipswich, UK. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims, proactively engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring accurate and timely resolution of claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of claims, adhering to pre-determined authority levels and ensuring prompt, fair, and expert resolution.
  • Liaise with brokers and clients to investigate liability and discuss claims protocols, activity, trends, and defensibility.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Underwriters, Actuaries, and other internal departments.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Third-Party Administrators and Legal Partners for claims outside Delegated Authority arrangements.
  • Effective diary management of claims through a diary system, allowing handlers to review claims every 90 days.
  • Regular meetings with delegated claims partners to oversee portfolio performance, improvement areas, and fund adequacy.
  • Attend audit performance discussions with key partners, ensuring action points are tackled quickly and effectively.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the MOJ Claims Portal is preferable but not essential.
  • Confident and effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent organization and ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
  • A high level of numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to show pragmatism when required and a true commitment to achieving excellence.
