Engineering Delivery Manager

Thales is seeking an experienced Engineering Delivery Manager to join our team in the Sea business. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-performing engineering teams and deliver complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-discipline engineering teams to generate innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Define the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile based on engineering estimates to ensure project delivery.
  • Manage interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programme.
  • Define engineering team work packages in terms of resources required, budgets assigned to each task, risks, and assumptions on these and the timescales to deliver within.
  • Plan and prioritize activities required to deliver the solution to the contract schedule, costs, and quality.
  • Manage and report on engineering efficiency for the project.
  • Identify re-use opportunities across the project.
  • Act as the People Manager for the engineering team on the project and provide feedback into the people manager reviews with the functional discipline leads.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in engineering with experience in successfully defining and leading the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
  • Ability to create a competitive advantage by managing risk, identifying opportunities, and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of others to ensure continuous improvement for our customers.

Working Relationships:

This role will work closely with the Programme Manager and the Project Design Authority (PDA) for the specific projects. This role will report to the Head of Engineering Delivery.
