Located within the Usher Institute at Edinburgh Bioquarter, the team delivers data solutions to support clinical trials across various projects.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, maintaining, and managing project-specific database systems that cater to diverse clinical research initiatives, including clinical trials. This is an exciting opportunity to take on responsibility for your own projects and contribute to shaping best practices adopted by the Clinical Trials Unit.

**About the Role**

We are looking for a highly experienced software developer who can effectively elicit business requirements from project stakeholders. You will work closely with patient groups and clinicians renowned for their expertise and be part of a dynamic international community.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Develop and deliver high-quality database systems for various clinical research projects.

- Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather business requirements and implement them into system designs.

- Design and implement efficient databases to manage and process large datasets.

- Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and contribute to improving best practices within the Clinical Trials Unit.

**Requirements**

- A relevant degree or equivalent IT knowledge gained through education, training, and experience, coupled with four or more years of IT software development projects successfully delivered.

- Proven experience in eliciting business requirements from project stakeholders.

- Familiarity with medical terminology is desirable.
