Principal Civil Engineer - Electrical Substations

Job Overview:

Access Talent Group is seeking a highly experienced Principal Civil Engineer to lead a new and developing team within electrical infrastructure and substation design. The successful candidate will work with clients across the UK on civil and structural elements for new builds and upgrades to substation and transformer infrastructure design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of civil engineers in substation and electrical infrastructure design
  • Develop and implement design strategies for electrical substation and infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality designs
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, including National Grid's Transmission Procedures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to drive business growth and success

Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification or HND in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Preferably IEng or CEng professional qualification achieved
  • Experience with substation design and electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of UK environmental and waste management legislation and requirements
  • Good knowledge of National Grid's Transmission Procedures
