Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee welding procedure qualification records (WPQRS) for materials before welding.
  • Review metallurgy and conduct trial tests, organizing third-party witnesses as needed.
  • Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) activities.
  • Ensure quality control (QC) activities are conducted in accordance with regulations.
  • Verify that all personnel are qualified to perform welding tasks in line with industry standards.
  • Investigate and resolve complex non-conformances, such as cracks in welds.
  • Collaborate with NDT and Production Manager to develop solutions for complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate welding qualification records.
  • Authorize non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Conduct reviews for new projects, assessing materials, weld positions, and types.
  • Attend technical reviews and complete necessary paperwork for traceability and special customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess a technical or quality qualification at HNC level, a RWC qualification, and relevant welding experience or inspection qualifications. A background in quality assurance and understanding of quality systems and standards is highly desirable.
