The Role

We are seeking a Performance Controller to act as a Business Partner for our renewable energy business in the UK & Ireland. Our team of motivated and focused Controllers at RWE Renewables Europe & Australia work in 9 countries across Europe, providing financial services for operational assets and projects under development and construction. As a Performance Controller, you will support the profitable growth of our renewable portfolio by setting up, interpreting, and analysing steering financial and operational KPIs, and presenting the results to management.

Responsibilities

  1. Support the growth ambitions for Onshore, Solar, and Storage in the UK & Ireland during the development and construction phase by setting up, interpreting, and analysing steering financial and operational KPIs, and presenting the results to management.
  2. Take responsibility for business planning and forecasting, including deviation analyses and the preparation of a comprehensive storyline for stakeholders.
  3. Regularly report operational business performance and conduct ad-hoc analyses.
  4. Act as a financial business partner to support and challenge the business, identify best-in-class solutions, and trends to safeguard the success of our growth ambitions.
  5. Maintain and strengthen good working relationships with internal counterparties within Renewables and the wider RWE group.
  6. Develop and continuously improve planning and controlling tools, especially with a focus on automation and digitalisation.
  7. Implement and refine structures and processes to ensure an efficient way of working for all stakeholders.

Requirements

  1. Excellent university degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration.
  2. Proven experience in a controlling, subsidiary management, or finance area.
  3. A profound knowledge and understanding of the European energy market and related regulations, especially in the UK & Ireland.
  4. Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and present it in a clear and logical format.
  5. Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and intercultural skills to establish and foster effective working relationships in a cross-cultural environment.
  6. Highly reliable and flexible team-player with good self-organisation and a strong commitment.
  7. Good skills in SAP (FI/CO/BI) and MS Office.
  8. Familiarity with IFRS; UK and Irish GAAP is a plus.
  9. Fluent in English.
