About the Role

Dyer & Butler is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Defence and Strategic Projects division in Plymouth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing resilience-related projects and tasks, ensuring the highest standards are met through effective planning, programming, procurement, and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage resilience-related projects or tasks, including effective supervision of staff, workforce, and sub-contractors.
  • Effectively manage planning and programming, procurement, and health and safety.
  • Produce project and task-specific documentation, including RAMS, permits, toolbox talks, briefings, and other necessary health and safety documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records, including actions log, resource allocation, site diaries, and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with other management team members to establish, develop, and implement plans to ensure effective deployment of staff and resources.
  • Chair weekly forecast and resource meetings with Maintenance and Projects teams and produce a labour board to allocate resources against projects.
  • Support the training department and senior managers to ensure resources have the required skills and training.
  • Perform Line Manager duties, ensuring the team is supported and provided with necessary tools and resources to achieve set goals at the organisational and individual level.
  • Support, coach, guide, and mentor members of the team to ensure excellent results are achieved.
  • Provide support and advice in resilience to ensure that future operation, maintenance, and training can be achieved for optimum service delivery and with minimum disruption.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the quality and delivery of the daily plan by accurately reporting task data and deviations to plan.
  • Actively seek ways to improve efficiency and service.
  • Effectively communicate and liaise with staff, workforce, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Implement the requirements of the Company Management System (CMS), as applicable to the business operations.
  • Keep up to date with current legislation and industry trends.
Requirements
  • Located in or within travelling distance of Plymouth.
  • Hybrid working possible, but likely to be site-based.
  • Good technical knowledge.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Experienced working under NEC contracts.
  • Degree or HNC in civil engineering.
  • 10 years of experience.
  • Civils infrastructure/building experience.
  • Work in MOD/Nuclear premises.
