Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their legal team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in adult social care law and be able to provide detailed, accurate advice on various areas, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Health and Social Care Act 2008.

Responsibilities:

  • Deputising for the Principal Lawyer and training and supporting the Lawyers in the team.
  • Providing legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including ordinary residence, Data Protection, and Freedom of Information.
  • Advising Service Managers and Directors on Adult Social Care policy and procedure.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
  • Prior experience in adult social care law from either a private practice or a public sector setting.
