Job Description

We are seeking an experienced general anaesthetist to join our team at James Paget University Hospital. As a consultant anaesthetist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality anaesthetic services to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver anaesthetic services to patients undergoing elective and emergency surgeries.
  • Participate in on-call shifts, including maternity cover.
  • Liaise with medical staff, participate in clinical meetings, and engage in post-graduate activities.
  • Take part in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental projects.

Requirements

  • MBBS or Basic Medical Degree.
  • On the UK GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of completion of UK Anaesthetic training.
  • Post-graduate degree in education (desirable).
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to UK CCT in Anaesthesia.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a salary of £140,000 - £180,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including study leave, funding for professional development, and opportunities for leadership growth.
