Horizonscan Limited is a consultancy business that specializes in resilience, crisis management, risk management, and business continuity. We are an employee-owned company with a purpose to make organizations more resilient. As a Business Continuity Specialist, you will join a high-performance team of consultants and contribute to the delivery of business continuity, crisis management, risk management, and organizational resilience services to our clients across various sectors, including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, medical products, clean power, universities, charities, infrastructure, technology, and food.
The role involves direct client interaction and international travel. You must be able to spend up to 40% of your time travelling nationally and internationally, which may mean frequent visits to clients' locations. Due to the nature of our travel and contractual requirements, you must hold a UK or EU passport. As a result, we require applicants who are eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom without restrictions.
Your primary responsibilities as a Business Continuity Specialist include:
- Creating client documents, such as Policies, Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Crisis Simulation Exercise (CSE) reports, Readiness Assessment reports, Business Impact Analysis (BIA), and Risk Registers.
- Researching and developing exercise scenarios to help our clients prepare for potential crises.
- Supporting and delivering client project work, including tracking hours/deliverables and reporting to clients.
- Taking responsibility for specific workstreams within a client contract, such as report writing and documentation reviews.
- Project Management, involving the coordination of tasks, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience from the emergency services, local authorities, private sector resilience, business continuity, emergency planning, disaster management, ISO standards, or auditing. A degree in a related field, such as Risk, Sustainability, Psychology, Communications, Environmental, Insurance, Education, Business Management, or Economics, would also be beneficial. While a proficiency in a second language is desirable, it is not essential for this role.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £37,000 to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with opportunities for pay progression and promotion in future years. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a pension scheme, gym membership, health insurance, employee assistance program, and 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays. After completing one year of service, you will become an employee-owner, enjoying additional benefits and being part of our shared ownership model.
