We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our team at EC&I Partners Limited. As a key member of our building services design team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of designs, calculations, specifications, and tender documentation for mechanical services as part of a project team.
  • Understanding of regulations and standards, and staying up-to-date with future changes.
  • Coordination with other disciplines and specialists to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Promotion of the company's values and reputation at all times.
  • Undertaking feasibility studies and preparing detailed budget costs and defined estimates as required.
  • Understanding and delivering regulatory obligations associated with Building Regulations Part L and BREEAM.
  • Working with electrical/energy/Part L engineers to derive low-energy design solutions.
  • Attending design team and project meetings on behalf of the company.
  • Preparing specifications/equipment schedules/drawings and information to installation and fully coordinated standards (RIBA Stage 5).
  • Undertaking site quality and legislative inspections and preparing associated reports.

About You:

We are looking for a forward-thinking individual with a strong background in mechanical building services design. Your key skills and experience should include:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience of mechanical building services design.
  • Design consultant or contractor background.
  • Significant experience of mechanical building services/HVAC design (domestic water services, ventilation, heating, cooling, renewables, and sustainability).
  • Hands-on knowledge and understanding of TAS, Cymap, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience of general mechanical building engineering services.
  • HNC in a relevant building services subject.
  • Ability to work as a team player, but also operate at an individual level.
  • UK full driving license.
  • Good experience of mechanical detail design and performance design.

Desirable:

  • Degree in a relevant building services subject.
  • Experience in using Revit MED or Magicad.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, able to manage projects, outputs, and work within deadlines.
  • Proven experience of working with, assisting, and managing junior staff.
