About the Role

This exciting opportunity is based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Great Yarmouth, where we provide comprehensive acute care for the population of the area. As a Consultant in Care of the Elderly, you will be part of a close-knit team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and improving health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to the development of our Care of the Elderly service, working closely with other Consultants to enhance patient care and experience.
  2. Provide out-of-hours cover for General Internal Medicine and support annual, study, and professional leave for colleagues.
  3. Liaise with medical staff from other specialties, participating in regular clinical meetings and post-graduate activities.
  4. Deliver a consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues across the Trust.
  5. Take part in our continuing medical education program, with study leave expenses covered by the Trust.

You will work alongside two other experienced geriatricians on Ward 12 (Care of the Elderly) to improve care for older patients with complex needs. You will also contribute to the improvement of care for frail patients on the Acute Medical Unit (EADU).
