Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Fitter to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As an HGV Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of modern waste collection LGV/HGV vehicles in our workshops.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of waste collection vehicles and equipment, including vehicle chassis and cab, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Vehicle fault diagnosis and rectification
- Maintenance of a high standard of housekeeping, both electronically and paper-based
- Support with health and safety issues to maintain OHSAS18001 standard
Requirements
- Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified) or proven experience repairing and maintaining HGV vehicles
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
- MOT preparation experience is advantageous
- HGV, PSV, or Plant experience
- HGV 2 license
- Effective verbal and written skills, coupled with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
