Android Developer Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Android developer to join our team at Monzo. As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality Android applications using industry-standard tools and technologies.

Our app is built using Kotlin, MVVM, and Coordinators, and we're looking for someone who can help us define what great looks like for Android engineers. You'll work in a small, autonomous product squad alongside iOS Engineers, Backend Engineers, User Researchers, Product Designers, Product Managers, QA Testers, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts.

Your mission will depend on the squad, but currently, mobile engineers are working on the core personal banking experience, paid products, lending products, business banking, and internal operations. You'll have the opportunity to have a significant impact on both what we build and how we build it.

We're looking for Android engineers with strong product sensibilities. If you've shipped and iterated on at least one app in the Play Store, have a product mindset, love turning excellent design into beautiful products, and are comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity, then we'd love to hear from you.

Our interview process involves three main stages: an initial call, a take-home task or pair coding exercise, and a final interview including a system design and a behavioral interview. We offer flexible working hours, a learning budget of £1,000 a year, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
