Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team at HM Land Registry. As a key member of our digital transformation team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing cloud-based infrastructure solutions that support our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions using AWS, Openshift, and Puppet automation technologies.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to transform technical requirements into effective DevOps toolchains.
  • Troubleshoot issues early in development lifecycles to ensure effective production services.
  • Develop and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure availability, integrity, and performance of services.
  • Act as a technical reference point for complex technical points arising on operational service incidents or strategic IT development projects.
  • Perform as a technical and behavioral role model within the IT Operations Practice.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the practice and the IT Operations community.
  • Ensure the development of team members to meet future needs of HMLR.
  • Take the lead on analysis and resolution of major issues and problems arising on operational services.
  • Define operational processes and procedures to maintain resilience and integrity of IT infrastructure.
  • Identify and scope opportunities to improve technical services.
  • Engage in technical liaison with customers, IT partners, and suppliers.
  • Make decisions to ensure technical implementations are compatible with HM Land Registry business strategy.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience of Sagemaker Studio and AWS data services.
  • Experience of providing technical leadership and support within a team of DevOps Engineers.
  • Supporting Linux Operating Systems, containers, and containerized workloads.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language.
  • Experience of DevOps working practices of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and version control.
  • Configuration-as-code across cloud and on-premise environments using Terraform.
  • Working in an agile environment building, deploying, supporting, and operating cloud applications.
Desirable:
  • Experience of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or CentOS.
