Families Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Families Support Specialist to join our team in Ilford. This is a full-time/contract position with a competitive salary of £22 per hour, paid via an umbrella company.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Families Together Team on the Homes for Ukraine project, delivering outreach and support services to referred families. They will ensure an efficient and cost-effective service, working collaboratively with partner agencies within Children and Families to plan interventions that improve outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide support to families through outreach and home visits, promoting positive relationships and effective communication.
  2. Work closely with the Families Together Team to develop and implement family-centred plans, addressing individual needs and goals.
  3. Maintain accurate records of family interactions, progress, and achievements, contributing to the evaluation and improvement of services.
  4. Establish and maintain relationships with local partners, stakeholders, and community organizations, fostering collaborative working practices and accessing resources to benefit families.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with children and families, particularly in a support or advisory capacity.
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidance relevant to working with children and families, ensuring compliance and best practice.
  • Driving license and vehicle required for travel between locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, including those with English as a second language.
