Local Booking Lead | Newcastle (Casual)

We're Sofar Sounds, a global music community that brings people together in unexpected spaces across 400 cities worldwide. As a Local Booking Lead, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our host and artist community in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source and secure venues and hosts in Newcastle
  • Conduct regular venue site visits to ensure a seamless experience for artists and guests
  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-the-ground artist logistics, including advancing shows, responding to artist requests, and managing artist guest lists
  • Collaborate with the Regional team to curate compelling lineups that showcase local talent
  • Extend offers to local artists and manage communications regarding artist scheduling and booking
  • Update and maintain accurate artist records, ensuring we have the latest information on all talent
  • Stay connected to the local music scene, scouting new acts and building relationships to expand our roster of diverse, high-quality artists
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, supporting and booking venues and artists
  • A keen eye for identifying great spaces that could host a Sofar show
  • A driving passion to support local musicians and bring people together
  • Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating with a distributed cross-functional team
  • Strong connections to the local scene in Newcastle and across the region
  • A sincere and empathetic approach to leadership, fostering a culture of honesty, inclusivity, and accountability
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under deadlines
  • Flexible working hours and a creative approach to bringing the local hosts and community together
