Postdoctoral Position in Materials Chemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to characterise direct write lithographic approaches to nanoscale devices in the Department of Materials with Prof David J. Lewis, Chair of Materials Chemistry and Head of Department.

The successful applicant will support synthesis and characterisation efforts toward sustainable high-resolution routes to nanofabrication of nanoscale semiconductors.

Job Requirements
  • PhD in an appropriate area of physics, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in electron microscopy and lithography with electron and/or ion beams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in day-to-day supervisorial activities for Lewis' wider group of diverse PhD and MSc students.
  • Support project supervision, health and safety, and assistance with the drafting of manuscripts.
  • Characterise direct write lithographic approaches to nanoscale devices.
Working Arrangements

We offer hybrid working arrangements and flexible working options.

Salary and Duration

The estimated salary is £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience, and the duration of the post is 24 months.
