Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our Nuclear Medicine team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a high level of scientific support to our nuclear medicine services, ensuring the safe and accurate use of radioactive materials.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical physics and nuclear medicine, with experience in diagnostic imaging and radionuclide therapy. You will be responsible for leading the implementation and optimization of nuclear medicine imaging, including CT in SPECT/CT, and participating in the delivery of clinical nuclear medicine services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide scientific support to nuclear medicine services, ensuring the safe and accurate use of radioactive materials
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of nuclear medicine imaging, including CT in SPECT/CT
  • Participate in the delivery of clinical nuclear medicine services
  • Calculate dose and risk in the event of unintended or accidental irradiation or doses
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the department quality system
  • Participate in the training of students, newly appointed staff, and junior staff
Requirements
  • BSc Honours degree in Physics, Medical Physics, or a related field
  • Masters degree in Medical Physics, Medical Imaging, or a related field
  • HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist
  • RPA2000 Certified Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Nuclear Medicine
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
